Soil is our life support system. Soils provide anchorage for roots, hold water and nutrients. Soils are home to myriad micro-organisms that fix nitrogen and decompose organic matter, and armies of microscopic animals as well as earthworms and termites.
'Soil' is equivalent to 24 carat gold per farmer. Yes! We will always cherish the nature of the soil. We will pass on to our future generations what our ancestors taught us. Traditional or primitive livestock and land development is one of the most important practices in today’s environment. Only then can we hope to be able to restore our ancient traditional food.
Agricultural waste is never incinerated. All farm waste is recycled into mulch.
Foliar fertilizer protects soil health, promotes dense microbiology, provides thermal insulation and increases its water retention capacity.
It will only give us proper and nutritious food if we preserve the nature of the soil.
We use cow dung as manure along with fiber and foliar fertilizer which protects the soil.
What picture does the word ‘Forest’ bring to mind? Dense, lush shades of green? Wild herbs, shrubs, plants and trees of all shapes and sizes - all growing together?
At Grama Farms, we are developing a food forest - a glorious dream of ours! An embodiment of life supporting life. All forms of life will flourish and form symbiotic communities of harmony. Food that grows in an environment like this mothered by nature can heal and nourish all of mankind.
